to find at all much less in good condition, we are pleased to offer
once again the Carrera Porsche Design 5622 folding sunglasses and
matching zippered case. No larger than 3.0" x 2.5" when
folded, it's easy to see why the Carrera 5622 sunglasses are such
a marvel of Austrian and German engineering and so popular in the
marke. They're so small and convenient when folded you can take
them with you anywhere in anything....even your pocket. When you
take them out of your pocket, try to do it in a crowd and watch
faces as you slowly unfold them to their full size shape. These
vintage Carrera sunglasses fold at the front center in half, each
ear stem is hinged near the ear pad and folds down, and then both
ear stems fold inward. The result is a very small package that is
nevertheless as sturdy and elegant as any regular sunglasses you'll
ever find. We love the shape of the 5622 style as well as the contrast
between the gold plated Austrian frame and the amber / brown Carrera
Porsche Design lens. Clean and elegant lines and readily identifiable
quality, Carrera Porsche Design 5622 sunglasses are sure to be a

titanium silver aviator Model 5621 71 complete with rare rose color
as well as brown, partially gradient Porsche Design lens and the
original hard sided Carrera Porsche Design case. This classic sunglass
design uses the center hinge between the two teardrop lens to replace
the lens, raising up to allow the lens to be removed, the alternative
lens to be inserted into small prongs on the frame, and then clamping
down the center hinge to secure the lens. This design provides a
lot of flexibility to the owner with two complete sets of lens,
and the only drawback is that the clamp could sometimes leave de
minimus marks on the edge of the lens- which really doesn't matter
since you never see them when on the frame. These vintage Carrera
Porsche Design 5621 sunglasses feature a titanium silver frame that
provides a perfect contrast when combined with either the rose or
brown lens. The replacement lens are stored in a velvet pouch which

and vintage Carrera Porsche Design gold and titanium silver aviator
sunglasses Model 5623 77 were made in Austria and are our personal
favorite of any combination of materials Carrera used as variations
on this classic style. Aside from the clearly striking frame, these
Carreras feature the brown lens combined with the light, two tone
gradient lens that has tints of brown and blue shading to almost
clear, photochromatic in its darkening properties in direct sunlight.
This classic design uses the center hinge between the two teardrop
lens to replace the lens, rising to allow the current lens to be
removed, the alternative lens inserted into small prongs on the
frame, and then clamping down the hinge to secure the lens. This
design provided a lot of flexibility to the owner with two complete

you grew up and were in high school or beyond in the late 1970s
and early 1980s, you will recognize the Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses
with interchangeable lenses as the most desired and popular fashion
accessory among the cool crowd. Here we have the most popular Porsche
Design model 5621 complete with original hard sided case shaped
to fit the sunglasses perfectly and with felt compartment to hold
the two additional lenses. This is the classic combination of smoky
gray and brown gradient teardrop Porsche Design lens, a 2 lens set
of each, and the lens are easily swapped out by lifting the center
bar of the frame, removing the lens from behind small clips, inserting
the alterantive lens in their place, and clamping back down the
center bar. The interchangeable lenses allow you to color match

Carrera Porsche Design sunglasses with interchangeable lens - we
are pleased to offer these Carrera Porsche Design gold 5623 aviator
sunglasses with interchangeable brown and smoke gray lens. The brown
lens has a degree of gradient to it, i.e. they will lighten and
darken somewhat with different light conditions, but both look great
on the gold plated 5623 Austrian frame. The center bar on the nose

We
think you'll agree that the rare tortoise version of Carrera Porsche
Design 5623 sunglasses is the most striking of any of the Carrera
Porsche Design styles from the 1980s. Vintage Carrera sunglasses
with the interchangeable Porsche Design optyl lenses are hard to
find regardless, especially in good condition, but we only see about
1 pair of the tortoise version each year if that. We love the contrast
between the high quality Austrian frame and the PD lenses, and the
tortoise shell just gives you a lot of added design flair when compared
to more traditional Carrera gold, titanium, or matte black frames.
You can customize these for your desired look or for the light conditions
via the interchangeable lenses which are swapped out by raising
the hinge above the hose and setting/replacing the lenses into small
prongs on the frame which are then held in place by closing the
hinge. These Carrera Porsche Design 5623 sunglasses feature the
Carrera C80 lenses which offer "active eye protection for active

sunglasses. Even better, this Carrera 5621 frame is the striking
combination of gold and titanium silver, and it couldn't be a better
complement to the blue gradient lens. The exceptionally rare blue
gradient lenses are in very good condition - fairly rare for Porsche
Design interchangeable lenses- and are the reason to buy these Carrera
5621's, but we are also including a 2nd set of gray lenses that

with a scuff mark on one lens out of the field of vision and a small

dark gray lenses in the Austrian matte black frame in this classic
of 1980s sunglass innovation. You won't see many vintage Carrera
Porsche Design purple lenses for either 5621 or 5623 sunglasses,
and be forewarned that there are many fake Porsche Design sunglasses
and lenses on the market so it's important to know the difference.
The purple and dark gray interchangeable lenses give you a lot of
flexibility to match color to different outfits and to cope with
differing light conditions. The lenses are easily changed by lifting
the center hinge, removing the lenses from prongs on the black matte
composite frame, inserting the replacement lenses, and lowering

Porsche Design 5621 71 sunglasses have a titanium silver frame,
but check out the two sets of interchangeable Porsche Design lenses
in the rarest of colors - blue gradient and rose! We already knew
light blue gradient Porsche Design lenses were incredible, but frankly
we had forgotten how cool the rose - wine color lenses were. Regardless
of which you pick to wear that day, the blue gradient and rose Porsche
Design lenses are the 2 most requested and rarest colors for vintage
Carreras. The center hinge in the titanium silver frame raises to
allow one set of lenses to be removed from the prongs and the replacement
set of lenses inserted into small prongs on the frame. Then, the
lens clamps down to hold the lenses secure. These early Carrera
5621 sunglasses were the first to incorporate large optyl lenses,
a material far lighter than glass lenses but yet offering superior
optical qualities and UV protection. The Austrian frame measures

Part of a Tucson, Arizona sunglass collector's liquidation, the
last pair of these we sold were purchased by husband and wife who
each claimed their own lens color and shared the 5621's between

The center hinge on these Carrera 5621 sunglasses raises to allow
the current set of lenses to be removed and the other set of lenses
inserted into small prongs on the frame and clamped down with the
center hinge. Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621 sunglasses are
probably more popular today than they were when first introduced
in the 1980s, and none are more popular than the 5621 40 variation
with all gold frame. Carrera 5621 sunglasses are popular both with
me and with women who appreciate its moderately oversized sunglasses
style and look. Carrera revolutionized sunglass design with the
Porsche Carrera line in the 1980s, introducing optyl as a lens material
which was much lighter than glass and thus allowed for larger frame

Rare vintage
Carrera Porsche Design 5623 77 sunglasses are the hardest of the
interchangeable lens frames to find combining silver titanium and
gold in a striking and eye catching design. That's good, but when
you find them with the hardest to find blue gradient Porsche Design
lenses as well as the PD anthracite lenses you know you've gotten
very lucky. We think it's right up there at the top of the line
in the vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621 and 5623 frame and lens
combos, and the look speaks for itself. The center gold hinge raises
to allow the interchangeable lenses to be removed and inserted into
small prongs on the frame, and the spare lenses are stored in a
felt pouch inside the included hard sized black Carrera Porsche
Design case. Both sets of lenses are marked with Porsche Design
and the logo, and their teardrop aviator sunglass lens shape measures
approximately 2.675" x 2.25" at the widest points. The
silver titanium and gold Austrian frame measures approximately 5.25"
temple to temple, making this size always popular with me and increasingly

Along with tortoise

black and gold Carrera Porsche Design 5621 91 sunglasses look great
as a frame alone and even better with the 2 separate sets of Porsche
Design teardrop aviator interchangeable lenses. One set of lenses
is gradient that's perfect for wearing indoors and outdoors without
taking your Carrera PD's off all the time, and other a solid tint
for the brightest, sunniest conditions. First, let us just say that
you don't see the 5621 91 frame very often - probably even here
we only get it in once a year on average. We assume not many of
this variation were made, but if so it was a mistake because we
think the black matte frame coupled with gold center hinge and prongs
is pretty stunning and is sure to attract glances. The gold center
hinge raises and lowers to allow the lens sets to be replaced, slotting
into the small gold prongs on the front frame. The separate lenses
are stored in a felt pouch inside the included hard-sided black
Carrera Porsche Design case. Each lens measures approximately 2.75"
x 2.25" with left lens marked Porsche Design and the logo,
and the frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple,
popular with both me and with women seeking great vintage oversized
sunglasses. There are plenty of vintage Carrera counterfeits on
the market, but like all of our vintage sunglasses they are thoroughly
vetted for condition standards and period authenticity. One ear

Super cool Carrera
5476 49 sunglasses with C-Vision 400 lenses have a look reminiscent
of Cazal 958 sunglasses, but the Carreras are less architectural
but have more pizzazz in the angular gold and black pattern enamel
that graces each temple of these Austrian sunglasses. One subtle
design feature that we actually like the best about Carrera 5476
sunglasses is the alternating gold and black bands that are airbrushed
together and go down the length of each ear stem to the black ear
pads. It's a look that's sure to be noticed, with temples that extend
out beyond the lenses to create a floating on air effect. The gold
plated frame extends to a width of approximately 5.25" temple
to temple with lenses measuring approximately 2.0" x 1.675"
at the widest points and with left lens marked Carrera C-Vision
400. The Carrera racing logo is embossed on each ear stem near the
hinges, and the inside of one stem is marked Made in Austria 5476

Carrera Porsche
Design 5633 40 is another innovative Carrera interchangeable lens
design, and while lesser known than Carrera PD 5621 and 5623 sunglasses
we happen to think Carrera 5633's equal if not surpasses them. The
5633's were part of Carrera's evolutionary process, developing the
unique one piece double lens design you'll see here but still retaining
the ability to have interchangeable lenses. The lenses are 1 piece
construction, and they slot into prongs on the frame as per the
5621 and 5623 lines with center hinge clamping down to hold them
in place. One good thing about Carrera Porsche Design 5633 sunglasses
versus the other styles is that the lenses are easier to maintain
scratch free this way versus individual lenses having a tendency
to rub together in the 5621's and 5623's, even stored in their felt
pouch. Like those, these Carrera 5633 sunglasses come in the original
hard sided Carrera case that includes a felt pouch to store the
replacement lenses. The frame itself is all gold, and both the rose
tint and brown tint Porsche Design lenses look great and have the
PD logo etched on the left lens. The inside of one ear stem is marked
Porsche Design by Carrera along with the US patent number on the
ear pad while the inside of the other stem is marked Made in Austria
5633 40 62 [] 12 Small 130 PA. We might note that while these are
the smaller PD size, they're still pretty sizeable measuring approximately
5.25" temple to temple and lenses measuring approximately 2.375"
x 2.0" at the widest point. The colored rims of the 1 piece
lenses are a nice design touch, adding color to the frame and a
great complement to the gold. Very cool!
