1 Vintage Ray-Ban L2112 Outdoorsman II sunglasses c 1980s - mid 1990s feature the famous "General" brow bar in an Arista gold plated aviator frame and G-15 anti-glare lenses, one of the classics of sunglasses design and a style that's stood the test of time. This is exactly the style General Douglas MacArthur wore during his military campaign to retake the Phillipines during World War II, one of the most famous looks in eyewear ever created and sure to be a conversation starter. The unisex Ray-Ban L2112 Arista Outdoorsman frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the Bausch & Lomb 62mm G-15 anti-glare lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 2.0" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lenses are laser etched BL near the hinges. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14 and on some production one ear pad is impressed L2112 UYAS, part of a major collection of classic vintage designer sunglasses from Orlando, Florida.

2 The earlier version of Ray-Ban 62mm Outdoorsman II sunglasses were produced from the 1950s through the mid to late 1970s, identical in size, shape, and appearance but pre-dating Bausch & Lomb laser etching their logo in italics on the lenses - see photos 1 and 2. Frame and lens measurements are identical, and the top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14. Production from the 1950s and 1960s will have no lens marks while 1970s era lenses are laser etched BL near the hinges. Early and rare.
