1 Vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses combine a gleaming tortoise shell frame with Bausch & Lomb G-15 mineral glass lenses for an eye catching look that's stood the test of time, an icon of modern sunglasses design. It's a style and combination made famous in movies from the 1970s and 1980s like Dirty Dancing and the Blues Brothers, and you can be assured that there is absolutely no comparison between these original B&L Ray-Ban Wayfarers and the ones made today by Luxottica. The inside of one ear stem impressed Wayfarer and the inside of the other stem is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA and on some production one ear pad is impressed L2052. In addition, B&L 50 [] 22 is impressed in the frame above the rear of the right lens and both lenses are laser etched BL near the hinges. The unisex Ray-Ban Wayfarer frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the Bausch & Lomb G-15 lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL at the hinges. 2 From the mid 1980s vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarers were still identical in size, shape, and appearance except that the Ray-Ban logo was added to the upper outside corner of the left lens in addition to a laser etched BL near the hinges. Quality, construction, and everything else is the same so it's really a matter of personal preference as to whether you like the logo on the lens albeit subtle.

3 In the mid 1990s Bausch & Lomb began producing original Wayfarers with the Ray-Ban logo in raised metal relief on the ear stems as you can see here in photos 1, 2, and 3 instead of the horizontal chrome insert. Otherwise, they are identical in size, shape, and marks so it's a matter of personal preference how you like your ear stems!
