Vuarnet 002 Outdoorsman PX-5000 Sunglasses
Vintage Vuarnet 002 Outdoorsman sunglasses are a low production variation of the 002, featuring PX-5000 high performance lenses and adjustable "shooter" ear stems that curl behind the ears for a secure fit in any situation. These Vuarnet Skilynx shooters were particularly popular on the ski slopes on warmer, sunnier days when you didn't need or want to wear full glacier glasses or ski goggles. The Vuarnet PX 5000 lens is a special purpose brown-based lens designed for use at high elevations and for light sensitive eyes, mountain climbers, pilots, etc. that features superb contrast enhancing and eliminates glare with average light transmission 4%. You'll also love the fact that both ear stems are highly adjustable, extending in or out by sliding the 2 part stems and then locking them down using the pegs and holes you'll see in the photos. The unisex Vuarnet blue nylon frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski" at the top center. You'll find the Vuarnet PX logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX Vuarnet embossed on the other, and the inside of one of the adjustable stems is impressed France along with the crown trademark.
