Ray-Ban W0302 Precious Metals Ultragradient Sunglasses
Vintage Ray-Ban Precious Metals W0302 sunglasses feature the incredible cool of a 58mm "The General" aviator frame in the Deep Groove top of the line styling of Precious Metals sunglasses. Precious Metals were marketed by Bausch & Lomb as an opulent blend of classic and contemporary styling, "with all the richness of your finest jewelry" in a pair of "optically superior" sunglasses. The classic Precious Metals Outdoorsman style features two-tone plating of precious metals to accentuate your eyes in a new and exciting way. B&L Ultragradient lenses were the next and final step up in the B&L Ray-Ban product catalogue of the 1960s, 1970s, and early 1980s after which time this lens ceased to be made due to its high manufacturing costs. Their photochromatic properties on a clear lens made them unique for their time, for they darken significantly in sunlight and in a much faster period of time than any other lens B&L ever produced. The fact that they are essentially free of tint with a moderate mirror finish in the upper portion means that they can look and function much like regular eyeglasses when worn inside or in low light condition. This frees you from the necessity of constantly taking your sunglasses on and off when running errands and going inside/outside, but yet they provide superior glare protection and 100% UVA and UVB protection when outdoors. The deep groove of the Precious Metals line also provides the most secure fit for the lenses in the frame, and each frame is marked with a unique serial number exclusive to the Ray-Ban Precious Metals line and combine 24k yellow gold and black chrome along with a black "General" brow bar and ear pads in the classic Ray-Ban "The General" aviator style. The unisex Ray-Ban W0302 Precious Metals frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the 58mm Ultragradient lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points. You'll find the Ray-Ban logo in raised gold plated metal on the right lens, the hallmark of the Ray-Ban Precious Metals line, and both lenses are laser etched BL near the hinges, The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA along with the unique Precious Metals serial number, and the ear pads are original Precious Metals pads with one impressed BL in a circle. Includes original Precious Metals box, case. Rare.
