Ray-Ban Diamond Hard Tortuga Outdoorsman Sunglasses
1 Vintage Ray-Ban Diamond Hard Tortuga Outdoorsman sunglasses are one of the most highly prized models in the famous B&L Ray-Ban Diamond Hard line, a low production variation of Ray-Ban W1506 and W1507 Diamond Hard shooters with black brow bar or the W1508 Diamond Hard that has a Tortuga brow bar but traditional paddle ear stems. They feature highly reflective gold mirror Diamond Hard lenses, 24k gold plated Arista frame, and Tortuga "General" brow bar that both looks great and adds balance to the sunglasses. The Outdoorsman shooter ear stems curve behind the ear for the most secure fit possible with either black or mustard color plastic covers on the end for comfort. The amazing Ray-Ban Diamond Hard lenses used an innovative - and quite expensive to produce - Bausch & Lomb scratch-protection system which created a lens surface of amorphous diamond 10x more resistant to scratching than ordinary glass. This surface also sheds water, reducing water spotting and making the lens easier to clean. The diamond surface is permanently bonded to the lens via an ion beam process originally developed by NASA. The unisex Outdoorsman frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the 62mm Diamond Hard lenses measure approximately 2.375" x 2.0" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban along with the Diamond Hard diamond mark and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. You'll find the Ray-Ban logo etched on each ear stem near the hinges while the top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14, part of the collection of a well known European sports figure and customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
