1 Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621 sunglasses feature the gleaming gold plated Carrera 5621 Austrian frame, but the real stars of the show are the very rare Porsche Design blue mirror lenses which you get along with a second set of either brown gradient or gray Porsche Design lenses. Porsche Carrera blue mirror lenses were made in only very small quantities, and only as a special order from select higher end optical shops in certain parts of the country. As such, you'll probably never see another pair of Carrera 5621 blue mirror lenses anywhere else, and with the second set of interchangeable lenses you get two completely different looks in one pair of sunglasses. The center hinge raises and lowers to secure the lenses into prongs on the frame, and the included hard sided Carrera case has an inner felt pouch in which to store the second set of lenses. Carrera Porsche Design lenses were made of a revolutionary material called optyl which allowed large sizes not practical with glass lenses but retaining the superior optical properties. The unisex Carrera 5621 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.875" x 2.25" at the widest points with left lens laser etched Porsche Design along with the PD logo. The inside of one ear stem is impressed with the unique serial number and marked Made in Austria 5621 46 while the inside of the other stem is marked Porsche Design by Carrera along with the impressed US patent number on some production.
