Bausch & Lomb Large Octagonal Sunglasses
Vintage Bausch & Lomb sunglasses feature early and rare B&L octagonal G-15 mineral glass lenses, the shape of which is - and trust us on this - a real manufacturing and production achievement. The fact that B&L could also produce the shape with their optical quality glass which originated real anti-glare optical properties is even more amazing. The production of these early B&L sunglasses pre-dates the widespread introduction by B&L of the Ray-Ban brand, a time period when they continued to produce their own B&L branded eyewear including the famous B&L Ful Vue line. The unisex Bausch & Lomb frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.875" at the widest points. The rear of the gold plated nose bridge is impressed B&L 50, direct from a Kiawah Island, SC estate collection of rare vintage Ray-Bans.
