1 Vintage Ray-Ban Caravan sunglasses c 1960s - early 1980s feature hard to find B&L Bausch & Lomb RB-3 lenses in the iconic gold plated 58mm Caravan frame. Ray-Ban RB-3 green lenses feature absorption balanced with the eye's
sensitivity to colors for peak acuity, with 71% visible light absorption
and 100% UV protection. Ray-Ban Caravan sunglasses were introduced c 1960s and immediately proved to be one of Ray-Ban's most popular designs in both men's and women's sunglasses, a good fit and shape for a wide variety of faces. The unisex Ray-Ban Caravan frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L 58 [] 16 USA and on some production the lenses are etched BL and one ear pad may be impressed L0582, part of a fine collection of vintage Ray-Bans by a well known music industry figure and customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.

3 In the mid to late 1980s Ray-Ban introduced additional marks to combat rampant counterfeiting of popular Ray-Ban styles, laser etching the right lens with the Ray-Ban logo and both lenses BL near the hinges as you can see here. They are otherwise identical in size, shape, appearance, and impressed marks on the top and bottom of the nose bridge.
