1 Vintage Ray-Ban W1908 Gatsby Style 5 Diamond Hard sunglasses are an overall amazing design, an icon among fine vintage sunglasses. The distinctive Ray-Ban Gatsby tortoise shell frame is complemented with arched gold decoration at the nose bridge and extending across much of the top frame for great design flair. That being said, the real star of the show with Ray-Ban W1908 Gatsby sunglasses are the B&L Diamond Hard lenses, a highly reflective gold mirror that is still unmatched today for its looks and optical properties. B&L Diamond Hard lenses feature a scratch-protection system which creates a lens surface of amorphous diamond that is 10 times more resistant to scratching than ordinary glass. This surface also sheds water, reducing water spotting and making the lens easier to clean. The diamond surface is permanently bonded to the lens via an ion beam process, originally developed by NASA, and we think its gold mirror surface looks great with the W1908 Gatsby Style 5 frame. The unisex Ray-Ban W1908 Gatsby Style 5 frame measures approximately 5.125" temple to temple, and the lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.375" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges and right lens laser etched Ray-Ban along with the diamond symbol indicating Bausch & Lomb Diamond Hard lenses. You'll find the Ray-Ban logo on a small gold tab on the exterior of both ear stems, and the inside of one stem is marked B&L Ray-Ban USA while the inside of the other stem is marked Gatsby Style 5 and on some production one ear pad is impressed W1908 XNAR.
