1 Vintage Ray-Ban W1509 Diamond Hard Outdoorsman II sunglasses from the Ray-Ban Survivors Collection are an amazing and rare example of the very finest of Bausch & Lomb production of Ray-Ban sunglasses leading up to the brand's sale to Luxottica in 1998. The B&L Ray-Ban B&L Diamond Hard lenses feature a scratch-protection system which creates a lens surface of amorphous diamond that is 10 times more resistant to scratching than ordinary glass. This surface also sheds water, reducing water spotting and making the lens easier to clean. The diamond surface is permanently bonded to the lens via an ion beam process originally developed by NASA, and this is a Ray-Ban Deep Groove frame, far stronger than the wire arms of a typical Ray-Ban shooter. You'll find other fine details such as the etched Ray-Ban logo in the gold plating along with a black "General" brow bar and Deep Groove Outdoorsman ear stems for a secure fit in all conditions. The unisex Ray-Ban W1509 frame measures approximately 5.675" temple to temple, and the 62mm Diamond Hard lenses measure approximately 2.375" x 2.0" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban along the diamond symbol and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the bottom of the bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban 62 [] 14, part of the collection of a well known TV and movie industry figure and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop. The 58mm Diamond Hard lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.875" at the widest points with the right lens laser etched Ray-Ban along with the diamond symbol and both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges.
