1 Vintage Ray-Ban bullet hole shooters c 1980s - early 1990s are an icon of modern sunglasses design, full of innovation including the center ring "bullet hole", the "General" brow bar, shooter ear stems for the most secure fit possible, and of course the famous Bausch & Lomb G-15 anti-glare lenses. To produce these famous frames, gold is permanently bonded to premium grade steel which was specially alloyed for both strength and malleability. The center "bullet hole" and "General" brow bar were both designed to improve balance on the face for hunters and shooters, but it's fortunate that these design innovations also happen to look super cool! Bausch & Lomb G-15 lenses are known for their ability to transmit all colors equally so they retain their true values and attain 85% visible light absorption and 100% UV protection. The teardrop shaped 62mm G-15 lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 2.0" at the widest points with right lens laser etched Ray-Ban and both lens laser etched BL near the hinges. The unisex bullet hole shooter frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple, and the top of the nose bridge is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA, part of the collection of a well known movie and TV industry figure and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.

2 Vintage Ray-Ban G-15 bullet hole shooters c 1950s - early 1970s are identical in appearance except that here the G-15 lenses pre-date Bausch & Lomb introduction of their logo laser etched in the lens (see #3 below). They are otherwise identical in in size, shape, and marks.

3 Vintage Ray-Ban 12k GF bullet hole shooters c 1970s also pre-date the Ray-Ban logo etched in the lens but was the next step up in Bausch & Lomb's gold plating when first introduced in the 1970s. To the eye there is no appearance difference but here top of the nose bridge is impressed Ray-Ban B& L 1/10 12K GF to indicate the 12k gold filled frame.

4 Save with vintage Ray-Ban bullet hole shooters c early 2000s which were still a faithful reproduction produced by Luxottica shortly after they acquired Ray-Ban from Bausch & Lomb in 1998 - 1999. There is no appearance difference but here top of the nose bridge is impressed Ray-Ban 62 [] 09 and G-15 mineral glass lenses are impressed RB versus the BL of Bausch & Lomb production.
