Ray-ban 58mm Ambermatic Outdoorsman Shooter Sunglasses

1 Vintage Ray-Ban 58mm Ambermatic Outdoorsman "shooter" sunglasses c 1960s - early 1980s feature cable wire ear stems for the most secure fit possible in all conditions and world famous Bausch & Lomb photochromatic Ambermatic mineral glass lenses. A great example of function in design, the "General" brow bar was designed to improve the balance of the sunglasses on the face, popularized by photos of General Douglas MacArthur in World War II. If you've ever worn a pair of Ambermatics you'll know why they're like candy for the eyes. B&L Ray-Ban Ambermatic lenses self-adjust to any lighting situation you may encounter, getting darker in colder temperatures to make them ideal lenses for the ski slopes or high mountain trails and provide 100% UV protection regardless of the lighting conditions. The B&L 58mm Ambermatic mineral glass lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.875" at the widest points, and the photochromatic optical properties are infused into the glass and not a coating that will ever wear out or wear off. The unisex Ray-Ban Outdoorsman frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple and impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA on top of the nose bridge and B&L Ray-Ban 58 [] 14 beneath, part of the collection of a well known sports figure and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
