Ray-Ban Gradient Density Mirrored Caravan Sunglasses

Vintage B&L Ray-Ban gradient density mirrored black Caravan Explorer sunglasses c 1960s / early 1970s are one of the rarest vintage Ray-Ban designs and we think one of the coolest. The black Cavaran Explorer frame, also known as the Navy Caravan, is slightly more rounded and uniquely shaped than traditional Caravan sunglasses. However, what really stands out are the rare Bausch & Lomb mirrored gradient density lenses. These lenses were filmed by B&L with a metallic coating to obtain a vertical density gradation. This coating is hard and durable, and it will not wear off or wear out over time. It's really an amazing lens, and the black Navy Caravan Explorer frame is a superb complement to the silver mirrored gradient density lenses. The frame is a nice size for men and women, measuring approximately 5.375" temple to temple with 58mm lenses that measure approximately 2.125" x 1.875" at the widest points. The top of the frame is marked B&L Ray-Ban 58 [] 16 USA all impressed in the metal. Very rare.
