Vintage Carrera Porsche Design 5621 sunglasses in titanium silver are one of our favorites in the vintage Carrera Porsche Design line c mid 1980s. The silver frame really complements the interchangeable Carrera Porsche Design optyl lenses, an advanced material pioneered by Carrera that enabled the design of these oversized sunglasses with interchangeable lenses in the 5621 and 5623 lines. This is a strong set of lens colors, combining Carrera PD brown gradient lenses with hard to find purple anthracite lenses, and the lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 2.25" at the widest points with left lenses marked Porsche Design. The lenses are changed by lifting the center hinge and either inserting or removing the lenses which are held in place by small prongs on the frame. The unisex frame itself is very well made reflecting good Austrian engineering, and it measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple. The inside of one ear stem is marked Carrera Porsche Design along with the US patent number on the ear pad, and the inside of the other stem is marked with the serial number impressed in the metal along with Made in Austria 5621. Tres cool!
