Vuarnet 002 Skilynx Brown Outdoorsman Sunglasses
1 Vintage Vuarnet 002 Outdoorsman sunglasses are a low production variation of the 002, featuring PX-4000 Skilynx lenses and adjustable "shooter" ear stems that curl behind the ears for a secure fit in any situation. These Vuarnet Skilynx shooters were particularly popular on the ski slopes on warmer, sunnier days when you didn't need or want to wear full glacier glasses or ski goggles. You'll also love the fact that both ear stems are highly adjustable, extending in or out by sliding the 2 part stems and then locking them down using the pegs and holes you'll see in the photos. The unisex Vuarnet brown nylon frame measures approximately 5.375" temple to temple, and the PX-4000 Skilynx lenses measure approximately 2.125" x 1.75" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched with the trademark Vuarnet "V on a Ski". You'll find the Vuarnet PX logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem and PX Vuarnet embossed on the other, and the inside of one of the adjustable stems is impressed France along with the crown trademark.

2 Vuarnet also produced an Olympic commemorative edition of these shooters, coinciding with their sponsorship of the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics. They are identical in size, shape, and appearance with the only difference being the addition of the repeating star symbol of the 1984 Los Angeles summer Olympic games joining the PX logo embossed on the exterior of one ear stem.

3 Another variation of this iconic Vuarnet style featured the Pouilloux PX symbol inside a round circle on one ear stem and the same PX logo and Vuarnet on the other stem. They are identical in size, shape, and appearance with the only difference being the use of the early round PX symbol as you can see here in photos 1 and 2.
