1 Vintage Revo 840 Grand Sixties purple mirror sunglasses are reminiscent in size and shape to iconic vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarers but with that obvious and distinctive Revo flair. Here the real stars of the show are the rare Revo purple mirror lenses, highly reflective and picking up plenty of hues of red and blue also out in the sunlight to go along with the rich deep purple. Revo 840 sunglasses such as these were part of the initial design line released by Revo preceded only by the identical 750 prototype and characterized by these high performance matte black composite frames and Revo mirrored lenses with optical technology developed for the NASA space program. The unisex Revo 840 frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the purple mirror lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 1.675" at the widest points. 3 For advanced collectors, the predecessor to this and all vintage Revo 840s were known as Revo 750s, a marking convention that may have only lasted a few early months after their introduction c 1984 before those and all other marking conventions were standardized into the Revo 800 series and all the great styles therein. This is the earliest version of the Revo 850 purple mirror sunglasses, identical in size, shape, and appearance except with slightly richer, deeper shades of purple which was also the case in the predecessor blue mirror styles. This collector set includes the original Revo 750 box, very early Revo velcro soft case, and a rare Revo collector card along with rare new old stock Revo 750 Grand Sixties purple mirror sunglasses in mint, unworn condition.
