Ray-Ban Red Wayfarer and Wayfarer II Sunglasses
1 Vintage red Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses were one of the few color variations done by Bausch & Lomb for the original Wayfarer first generation style and thus much harder to find than black ebony or tortoise shell. It's the classic Wayfarer shape but snazzed up in red along with B&L G-15 mineral glass lenses, the original anti-glare lenses Bausch & Lomb developed for the US military. You'll find only the elongated chrome inserts on the front frame and ear stems of these original Wayfarers, in contrast to the Ray-Ban logo in raised metal relief you find on the stems in later models. The unisex Ray-Ban Wayfarer frame measures approximately 5.5" temple to temple, and the 50mm lenses measure approximately 1.875" x 1.5" at the widest points with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges. The inside of one stem is impressed B&L Ray-Ban USA while the inside of the other stem is impressed Wayfarer and also impressed B&L 5022 above the rear of the right lens. These are new old stock red Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses in mint unworn condition, direct from a well known European sports figure's collection and long time customer of the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.
