The combination of the General bar and the bullet hole construction were both designed by Ray-Ban to improve the balance of the sunglasses on the face for hunters and shooters. The 10k gold filled frame stands up to the test of time, retaining its finish in a way that traditional gold plating from this period could not. These shooters feature the popular outdoorsman shooter ear stems to provide a secure fit in all conditions. The optical qualities of these early Bausch & Lomb G-15 anti-glare lenses are without parallel today, giving a sense of visual acuity that has made them the choice of pilots, hunters, outdoorsmen, and others since they were first introduced to the public in the late 1940s.
