B&L Ray-Ban 10k gold filled bullet hole
shooter sunglasses are c early 1970s, notable
for the widening of the General Bar on top
and a more pearlized finish versus the thinner
bakelite General Bar on earlier 1960s Ray-Ban
10k bullet hole shooters. It's a classic
look with the bullet hole design initially
popular with hunters and shooters but now
worn by everyday folks who appreciate the
balance and look the "bullet hole"
gives the 10k gold filled B&L frame.
The 10k gold filled frame stands up to the
test of the years, retaining its finish
in a way that traditional gold plating from
this period could not. These shooters feature
the popular outdoorsman ear stems, curved
wire stems that loop behind the ears to
provide a secure fit in all conditions.
The optical qualities of these early Bausch
& Lomb lenses are without parallel today,
giving a sense of visual acuity that has
made them the choice of pilots, hunters,
outdoorsmen, and others in active pursuits
since they were first introduced to the
public in the 1940s. The top of the nose
bridge is marked B&L Ray-Ban 10k GF
impressed in the metal of the frame which
measures approximately 5.25" from temple
to temple. The Bausch & Lomb teardrop
shaped 62mm aviator lenses measure approximately
2.5" x 2.0" at the widest points, part of an exclusive purchase
