1 Early B&L Ray-Ban 10k gold filled bullet hole shooter sunglasses are c 1960s and certainly a classic and enduring design. The shooter ear stems provide a nice and secure fit, and the 10k gold filled B&L frame that gives you a gold finish that lasts over the decades. The early Ray-Ban bullet hole shooters are iconic in the world of vintage sunglasses, and the thinner than normal bakelite "General" brow bar and use of 10k gold plating indicates an early date in their production c 1950s / early 1960s. These get their name from the round circle, or "bullet hole", that connects the 2 lenses and the nose bridge above, and it was originally designed to improve the balance of the sunglasses on the face for hunterrs and shooters. The top of the nose bridge is marked B&L Ray-Ban 10k GF impressed in the metal of the frame which measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple. The Bausch & Lomb teardrop shaped 62mm aviator G-15 lenses measure approximately 2.5" x 2.0" at the widest points, part of a fine collection of vintage sunglasses from Denver, Colorado. Rare.

2 Produced in almost the same period but just a few years later c early 1970s, these 12k gold filled bullet hole shooters retain the thin General brow bar which predates the widening of the bar a few years hence but move from 10k to 12k gold plating. Identical in appearance to #1 above, these 12k bullet hole shooters are marked Ray-Ban B&L 1/10 12k GF impressed in the frame.
