1114 001 black Serpent sunglasses from the Shapes line is the companion
style to vintage Revo Python 1111 sunglasses- but much harder to
find. The distinctive features of Revo 1114 sunglasses are the finely
etched black metal serpent skin frame and the top accent extending
off the sides to a fine point, another design feature reminiscent
of the look of a serpent. In the original Revo 1114 001 sunglasses
that started the line, the black serpent frame is combined with
Revo purple tint lenses that measure approximately 1.875" x
1.375" at the widest points and have moderately reflective
mirror lens qualities. The black and purple is a great look, and
you'll also get the high quality metal frame construction and optical
glass lens technology for which Revo was famous. Revo Serpent sunglasses
are very popular with men and women given the unisex frame size
of 5.0" temple to temple. The Revo logo is integrated into
the serpent skin pattern near each of the 2 spring loaded hinges,
and the inside of one ear stem is marked 1114/001 Frame Japan, part
of a Malibu, California purchase of fine vintage Revo 1980s and

870 001 sunglasses were an early French frame design in matte
black composite materials, combined with Revo's highly reflective
stealth mirrored lenses that pick up many hues of red and purple
out in the sunlight for a really great effect. The frame design
is unique, utilizing a horizontal ridge line just below the top
to create an illusion of a top accent while really done in the
one piece integrated frame. Revo 870 sunglasses are a subtle wrap
sunglasses design to provide greater contour to your face with
added protection on the sides from glare, wind, and rain. The
Revo logo is embossed in gold on the exterior of each ear stem,
and the inside of one stem is marked 870/001 CE Frame France.
The celluloid nose pads are integrated into the frame to maintain
a clean, crisp look, and the frame itself measures approximately
5.375" temple to temple with stealth mirrored lenses that
measure 2.125" x 1.375" at the widest points. Revo 870
001 sunglasses were one of the original sports sunglasses, light
and durable but with the famous Revo optical lens technology pioneered
in the NASA space program.

2. Sometimes we
receive from an estate collection a great pair of rare vintage
sunglasses that just don't quite live up to our condition standards
but are too good to pass up. Of course, we are also able to pass
substantial cost savings on to you. These vintage Revo 870 001
sunglasses are 100% authentic and identical to the ones above
and shown in the photos, but they have a rub mark on each lens
along the inside edge near the nose bridge where it appears the
case may have slightly marred the mirror finish and one light
surface scratch less than 0.1" on the outer top outer portion
of the left lens that kept them from a main listing on the site.
We could see them when looking closely and angled under a light
source, but they were not visible when worn out in the sunlight
which of course is the primary reason you buy great sunglasses.
The few light scuffs disqualified them from a primary listing
on the site, but we're pleased to offer them to you here at a
heavily discounted price as part of our Second Chance Program.

Sometimes we offer examples of some of our more expensive vintage
designer sunglasses that don't quite meet our extremely high condition
standards but which can be offered at a substantial discount.
These Revo 1113 011 sunglasses from the same Denver collector
have 1 light surface scratch on the left lens in the lower left
and 2 light surface scratches on the right lens at the top center.
While you can see them a bit when looking at the mirror side due
to the highly reflective properties of stealth mirror lenses,
all 3 areas are outside the normal center of vision and cannot
be seen when wearing the sunglasses outdoors. You will see the
area in question at the top center of the right lens here.
