If
you're like us and you have a tendency to scratch your sunglasses
through occasional careless handling or just the inadvertant drop,
these vintage Ray-Ban W1909 Diamond Hard sunglasses are the perfect
choice for you. These are a luxury fashion accessory all the way,
with not only the mirrored gold, moderately reflective B&L Ray-Ban
DiamondHard lenses but also an etched 24k gold electroplate frame.
Personally, our vote here is that the gold mirror B&L lens looks
absolutely stunning with the precious gold plated Ray-Ban frame,
but who can resist the significant added benefit of the Ray-Ban
Diamond Hard lens. The Ray-Ban Diamond Hard scratch protection system
creates a lens surface of amorphous diamond that is 10 times more
resistant to scratching than ordinary glass. This surface also sheds
water, reducing water spotting and making the lens easier to clean.
The diamond surface is permanently bonded to the lens via an ion
process which was originally developed by NASA. The frame from the
Ray-Ban Classics Collection is marked B&L Ray-Ban USA impressed
in the gold behind the nose bridge, and there is also a style number
W1909 XPAS impressed in the celluloid ear pad and CE impressed in
the other. The nose pads are original and marked BL. The right lens
is marked with the Ray-Ban logo along with the diamond mark of the
Ray-Ban Diamond Hard lens, and both lens have the small etched BL
logo in the lens near the hinge points. The oval DiamondHard lens
measure approximately 1.875" x 1.5" at the widest points,
and the frame measures approximately 5.0" temple to temple.

All
original Ray-Ban Wayfarer II tortoise shell sunglasses with green
B&L polarized lens are hard to find and one of the most actively
bought and sold styles of vintage sunglasses in the world. Not the
new modern version that's still ok but just not the same thing,
these single owner glasses came to the Vintage Sunglasses Shop as
part of a major estate consignment of vintage fashion accessories.
The tortoise shell Wayfarer sunglasses are much harder to find than
black, and might we also say they are also far cooler! An interesting
design element in the Wayfarer II are the ear stems, with their
combination of curves and angles to create a very interesting shape
and yet comfortable on the ears. These have all the right vintage
marks, including the raised metal Ray-Ban logos on each of the ear
stems at the hinges. One ear stem is marked B&L Ray-Ban U.S.A.
while the other is marked Wayfarer II. Each of the lens measures
approximately 2.0' S 1.875" at the widest point, and each lens
has the small BL logo impressed in the glass near the hinge points.
The frame measures 5.5" temple to temple, and the tortoise
color looks great with the Bausch & Lomb polarized G-15 lens.
We only see Wayfarer II styles infrequently and they never last
long on the site, so don't wait if you're in the market for real
vintage Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses c 1980s. Included is the original
B&L Ray-Ban Wayfarer II soft case.

Early
Ray-Ban Leathers sunglasses not only feature the most desirable
black leather wrap but also hard to find B&L photochromatic
lenses that we think are the perfect complement to Ray-Ban Leathers
sunglasses. There is just enough of the gold plated frame exposed
on the nose bridge, hinges, and ear stems to give these some sparkle
to go along with the elegance of leather. These are also a perfect
unisex size, with frame meausring approximately 5.25" temple
to temple and teardrop aviator lens measuring approximately 2.25"
x 1.875" at the widest points. The leather frames both lens
of course, but we really like the leather wrapped ear pads with
the lighter stiching on this fine example of 58 [] 14 leather aviators.
We really like the look of the gold and black leather, but what
really stands out here are the Bausch & Lomb photochromatic
lenses which shade from almost clear in indirect sunlight but will
darken out in the sun. The right lens is marked with the Ray-Ban
logo in script, and the frame is marked B&L 58 [] 14 USA underneath
the gold plated nose bridge impressed in the metal. Over the years,
we've seen several celebrities sporting Ray-Ban Leathers with photochromatic
lens, and as you might imagine they're quite hard to find. Fortunately,
we can offer this early example c 1970s direct from a major vintage
sunglass purchase in Chicago, IL.

If
you love the look of black and tortoise together like we do here,
you'll love these vintage Ray-Ban Style A CATS sunglasses that combine
the black, aviator style frame with B&L Ray-Ban G-15 lens and
a cool tortoise shell bar that runs across the top 5.5" temple
to temple. These are model L1668 CATS, made of an injection-molded
acetate and featuring rounded teardrop lenses and double bridge
design. Ray-Ban CATS are retro-style aviator sunglasses designed
for a stylish sporty type of personality, and these have that added
bit of fashion flair as the tortoise shell contrasts with the jet
black body of the frame. The green Bausch & Lomb lens are ready
for heavy duty sun protection, a teardrop shape that protects the
entire eye and measures approximately 2.25" x 2.0" at
the widest point. The right lens is properly marked with Ray-Ban
along with the small BL logo etched in the glass on both lens near
the hinge points. One of the ear stems is marked B&L Ray-Ban
U.S.A. while the other ear stem is marked Style A.

Rare black frame Ray-Ban shooter sunglasses with G-15 lens provides
a different and we think elegant look compared with classic gold
plated B&L Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses. Hard to find, the flexible
wire ear stems of the outdoorsman shooter sunglasses provide a
secure fit perfect for active outdoor pursuits. The style is classic
aviator, with teardrop shaped Ray-Ban lens measuring approximately
2.25" x 1.75" at the widest points, and both lens have
the etched BL mark near the hinge points in addition to the Ray-Ban
logo inscribed on he right lens. The frame measures approximately
5.0" temple to temple making this a nice size and style for
men's or women's sunglasses. The frame is marked on top of the
lower bar of the double nose bridge B&L Ray-Ban USA and also
marked B&L Ray-Ban 58 [] 14 underneath the lower bar of the
nose bridge, all etched into the metal frame. It's a great look,

A
unique, early Ray-Ban interpretation of classic tortoise shell sunglasses,
these Ray-Ban W1723 Chromax sunglasses are decidedly not your usual
preppy design. There are several unique design features incorporated
into these early Ray-Bans, most notably the striking flecks of purple
that add a lot of design flair to these vintage sunglasses. The
purple highlights really catch the light, and it gives the sunglasses
a really superb look on the face as you will see in the photographs.
This style is one of our most popular Ray-Ban styles, but they're
hard to find and were produced only in small quantities during their
production run. The shape is also unique, with more elongated oval
lenses than is the norm and, when combined with the purple accents
in the tortoise shell of the frame, it gives these vintage sunglasses
a really unique look. Ray-Ban Chromax Lenses employed Bausch &
Lomb color contrast technology designed to enahnce key outdoor colors
such as green, amber and red, making them appear brighter and easier
to see while providing sharp, clear perception of details. Combining
maximum function and 100% UV protection, Ray-Ban Chromax lenses
are ideal for a wide variety of outdoor activties requiring accurate
hand-eye coordintation such as golf, tennis, and driving. The frame
measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple making them the
perfect unisex size, and the lenses measure approximately 1.875"
x 1.375" at the widest points. The right lens is inscribed
with the Ray-Ban logo in script, and both lens have the small BL
logo etched in the glass near each hinge point. The exterior of
one ear stem has the Ray-Ban logo near the hinge point, the inside
of one ear stem is marked B&L Ray-Ban U.S.A. impressed in the
frame, and the inside of the other stem is marked W1723 YJAS and
DISC. also impressed in the frame. It' just a great look for men
or women, part of a Kansas City, MO estate collection of vintage
eyewear exclusive to the Vintage Sunglasses Shop.

A
low production variation of classic Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses,
check out the use of unique tortoise shell highlights in this gold
plated aviator frame of these beautiful Ray-Ban vintage Tortuga
aviator sunglasses. Typical Ray-Ban green G-15 lenses would have
been contradictory with the look of the gold and tortoise Tortuga
frame, but we think the use of the light brown Ray-Ban photochromatic
lens was the perfect choice. This lens will darken somewhat in sunlight,
but it appears a light brown indoors so the sunglasses adjust to
different light conditions and they can be worn comfortably inside
or outside. Both lens have the BL logo etched in the glass near
the hinge points, and the right lens also has the Ray-Ban logo in
script. The top bar of the double aviator nose bridge is marked
B&L Ray-Ban USA impressed in the metal, and the bottom of the
nose bridge is marked B&L Ray-Ban 58 [] 14. Great variation

with double gold plated nose bridge to make these a must have for
any afficianado of this style of vintage sunglasses. The combination
of materials and shape of these sunglasses rest comfortably on the
face while providing a look that is clearly out of the ordinary.
The frame measures approximately 5.25" temple to temple, and
they look great as men's or women's sunglasses as various members
of our staff can attest. The lens measure 1.875" x 1.75"

Ray-Ban gold plated outdoorsman shooter sunglasses feature the B&L
Kalichrome C yellow hunting and shooting lens, sunglasses which
can sell for over $1200 in the Asia Pacific region and always top
dollar in American and European markets. The precision ground and
highly polished glass B&L Kalichrome C lens is a yellow high contrast
lens free of waves or any other defects that could distort vision
or cause eye strain. The B&L Kalichrome lenses are famous worldwide
for their ability to intensify and enhance the visual spectrum,
and sporting enthusiasts and pilots everywhere swear by these glasses
when in difficult visibility situations. If you've never worn a
pair of Ray-Ban Kalichrome yellow lens sunglasses then you just
won't realize how much objects seem to leap out at you in any light
situation, providing a degree of visual acuity that is really unsurpassed
by any other optical quality sunglasses lens. The B&L Kalichrome
lens actually intensifies light and increases contrast, not to mention
they look cool. The shooter style is similar to the aviator but
sits a bit higher up on the face, and the area between the lens
is smaller and separated by a circular ring that aficionados call
the bullet hole. These vintage Ray-Ban outdoorsman Kalichrome shooter
sunglasses have the cable temples to provide a secure fit along
with their cool utilitarian look. The teardrop yellow Kalichrome
lens measures approximately 2.375" x 2.0" at the widest
point, and the frame measuring approximately 5.25" temple to
temple is marked B&L Ray-Ban USA impressed in the gold plated
metal on top of the nose bridge. B&L refers to this style and
lens as "Gradient Density Sunglasses" and notes in their
period product literature that "these lenses have been filled
with a metallic coating to obtain a vertical density gradation.
This coating is hard and durable and, with reasonable care, lenses
will remain in good condition." Since we have access to period
B&L Ray-Ban product information and research, we also thought
it relevant to pass on B&L's recommendation that you "make
sure that this sun glass is properly aligned horizontally before
your eyes, so that equal densities are encountered by both eyes."
Everyone at the Vintage Sunglasses Shop gets excited when we find
Ray-Ban Kalichrome yellow shooters in good condition, and we guarantee
you will be astounded by the visual acuity provided by these glasses
or return them for a full refund. If these are sold out, you may
also wish to check our identical vintage 10k

Classic
B&L Ray-Ban black Wayfarer sunglasses c 1980s are easy enough
to find but hard to find in good vintage condition. Ray-Ban Wayfarer
sunglasses were first introduced in 1952 when their design was a
revolutionary break from the metal eyewear of the past. Wayfarers
enjoyed early popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, especially after
they were worn by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 movie Breakfast at
Tiffany's. A lucrative 1982 product placement deal that featured
Wayfarers in movies like those worn by John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd
in The Blues Brothers and TV shows such as Miami Vice brought the
Wayfarer to the height of their popularity. Actors such as Jack
Nicholson have also become synonomous with the cool Wayfarer look.
Today, Ray-Ban Wayfarers are cited as the best selling design of
sunglasses in history. They're great as men's or women's sunglasses,
measuring approximately 5.5" temple to temple with lens measuring
approximately 2.0" x 1.875" at the widest points and both
marked BL etched in the glass near the hinges. Both ear stems have
the Ray-Ban logo in raised metal on the outside, and the inside
of one stem is marked Wayfarer while the inside of the other stem
is marked B&L Ray-Ban USA. The inside of one ear pad is marked
L1724 PSAS. Don't be misled by more modern versions of Wayfarers
now produced by Luxottica not to mention the Asian reproductions
that have come on the market - these are the original and now legendary
vintage Wayfarer I sunglasses of movies and television fame.

vintage Ray-Ban W1677 sunglasses not only have the desirable Ray-Ban

the round B&L lenses are the tortoise ear pads that make you
want to put these down on a table so others can admire the pads.
The exposed portions of the metal frame are a brushed antique gold,
complementing the look of the tortoise shell highlights. It's a

Rare
and unusual, these early Ray-Ban round tortoise shell sunglasses
were a unique find and in pretty amazing condition given the age.
Vintage round tortoise shell sunglasses have always been one of
our most requested sunglass styles, but this early B&L Ray-Ban
interpretation of the style is hard to beat. We love the round green
Ray-Ban lenses that go perfectly with the tortoise frame, each measuring
approximately 1.5" in diameter and both marked BL etched in
the lenses near the hinge points in addition to the Ray-Ban logo

temple to temple, suitable for women or for men who like the teashade
John Lennon style of sunglasses. The inside of one ear stem is marked

Ray-Ban 12k gold filled shooter sunglasses feature the famous B&L
G-15 lenses and the classic teardrop shape of Ray-Ban aviator sunglasses.
The classic aviator look here is combined with wire cable ear stems

classic! Ray-Ban tortoise Wayfarer 5024 sunglasses are not reproductions

Early
and rare B&L Ray-Ban 10k gold filled 62mm aviator sunglasses
are classics of the 1940s and 1950s when they were the choice of
pilots and the military around the world - and perhaps still even
more so today! There's not a lot to say about this legendary design
that the pictures don't convey, with 10k gold filled Bausch &
Lomb frame and B&L G-15 green anti-glare lenses originally developed
by B&L for the U.S. military. The 10k gold filled frame means
that these sunglasses will last for years and years, and the 10k
production dates to circa late 1950s / early 1960s. The teardrop
shaped lenses are moderately oversized to provide complete eye protection
from the top, bottom, and sides, part of the design requirements
for pilots that became part of the allure of Ray-Ban aviators. The
lenses measure approximately 2.25" x 2.125" at the widest

Ray-Ban
Ambermatic sunglasses were one of the most significant innovations
in optical lens technology ever created, and even today there are
few equals in how vintage Ray-Ban Ambermatic lenses change color
and properties to provide optimal eye protection in a variety of
light conditions (don't be misled into thinking that new Ray-Bans
- now owned by Luxottica and not Bausch & Lomb - are the same
as vintage B&L Ambermatic lenses). The B&L Ray-Ban Ambermatic
lens has photochromatic properties that change density depending
on the degree of both brightness and temperature. Taking its name
from the color of the lens, Ray-Ban Ambermatic sunglasses change
from amber yellow to gray and darker and denser in bright light
conditions and in colder temperatures. These are classic B&L
Ray-Ban 58mm aviator sunglasses with Ambermatic lenses and traditional
ear stems for an easy, comfortable fit. Men and women wear 58mm
Ray-Ban aviators given the standard frame size measuring approximately

be available at any point in time. 1. Vintage Ray-Ban 58mm
Ambermatic sunglasses with both lenses laser etched BL near the
hinges and the Ray-Ban logo in script on the right lens c mid 1970s
- 1980s (pictured) and 2. Vintage Ray-Ban 58mm Ambermatic
sunglasses with both lenses laser etched BL near the hinges and
no Ray-Ban logo in script c. 1960s - mid 1970s. In short, B&L
only began using the Ray-Ban script on the lenses in the mid 1970s,
and there are no other differences between the 2 options. As such,
